Saturday in the kitchen...

Waiting for spring will take awhile as we are waiting for yet another snowstorm here on the East Coast tomorrow...when I see anything yellow, I love it because its such a happy color, not to mention it makes me think of spring! So, here's to a happy Saturday and Sunday. Anyone else looking forward to the Red Carpet at tomorrow's Academy Awards?? I will be watching!

Here we are, another weekend, more snow - but mostly in New York and Boston. What a difference a week makes...;-)

This was the scene of my buried car last weekend! I was so worried because I had to fly to Kohler, Wisconsin on Monday and this was what I was looking at late Saturday.  Luckily, I got out and made the trip and it was a great - lots of exciting new products coming out soon - it was great to be among the first to see them and meet the product designers.  Check out my car!

Saturday in the kitchen...in a blizzard...

The snow is piling up and the wind is blowing hard here in Downeast Maine!  I am hunkered down for the day here as it really isn't a good idea to go anywhere. I'm hoping my car is ok out there...Well, I came across this lovely kitchen that belongs to actress Keri Russell and was featured in an issue of Elle Decor in 2011.  I love the earthy looking reclaimed fir cabinets - lends a very nice textured look to the kitchen don't you think?  To everyone in the Northeast - stay inside! I may be back later to explore more faucet options for the farmhouse sink.

The farmhouse sink...which faucet?...

Every day I help customers try to choose the right faucet for the their kitchen sink.

 The Shaws Farmhouse Sink by Rohl is an iconic and beautiful addition to a kitchen and I think it requires a special faucet to enhance the entire appearance of the sink, counter and backsplash.  There SO MANY options, it can be confusing. Its a good idea to focus on three different faucets and then eliminate which one you really don't like.

Today, I am focusing on Moen, and tomorrow, we will explore other faucet options.  In order to go with the traditional style of the sink, these three options are all 'vintage' and old-fashioned looking. I think they all look great, but I particularly love the bridge faucet.  The Shaws sinks are all handmade in Lancashire, England and will stand the test of time.

Best of MI...Spaah on Sunday...The Maldives...

WELCOME!

A lot has happened in my life since I posted this - life changing events that are huge, so this photo speaks to me on a very cold winter Sunday. What I wouldn't give to be right here, right now - how fantastic that would be. Not a surprise the resort is called 'Shangri-La, right?!! 

The Maldives have just been added to my bucket list.  What travel destinations are on your bucket list?  Start saving now! Have a great Sunday- I won't be watching the Super Bowl, but, I will be watching 'Downton Abbey' - I'm addicted are you?
